Water in Our World

All the water on Earth has been here since water first formed, several billion years ago. In fact, the water you drink today may have been consumed by the dinosaurs!  Water is ancient, precious stuff. We all know that we humans can only survive a few days without fresh water.  And we need water for all kinds of other purposes: washing, cleaning, recreating, growing crops, making computer chips, making clothing, dissolving solvents, fishing, swimming, making electricity, cooking.  Without our really realizing it, water is part of the intrinsic fabric of our lives.

This blog is designed to introduce you to many of the issues associated with water. Perhaps you will find pages on water and art, or the chemistry of water, or how to interpret toxicological data. You may also find information on current issues in water rights, water sanitation, oil spills and other environmental disasters.
